Kindermusik Village (birth to 18 months) ·  Kindermusik Adventures I (1 1/2 to 3 years) ·

Kindermusik Adventure Babies - birth to 18 months
Program Goals:
     Parent education which will help you understand how the classes' activities aid in your baby's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development. Brain research shows us that development in these areas can be stimulated through purposeful, engaging musical activities.
     Kindermusik Adventure Babies will meet for five 1 hour sessions. Parents or caregivers are actively involved with their baby during each class session. Our curriculum will be "Peekaboo, I Love You!" from the Kindermusik Adventure series. The at-home materials include a compact disc, board book, posters, a small duck gertie ball and a duck wash mitt.
      Activities include a gathering time, exercise, movement activities, singing, chanting, instrument exploration, dance, exercise/balance, intentional touch, quiet time, and object play.
June 2 to 30
      Tuesday 10:00 to 11:00 AM - June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30
Tuition: $60 (5, 1 hour session)
                plus $30 Materials Fee ($20 Sibling Materials Fee)

Kindermusik Adventures I Camp - 1 1/2 to 3 years old
Program Goals:
     To develop and experience rudimentary musical concepts (such as steady beat, tempo, smooth and bumpy, and dynamics), encourage creativity, and provide an environment in which the child's musical instincts are encouraged.
      Kindermusik Adventures I Camp will meet for five 75 minute sessions. A parent or caregiver must be present with the child during the class time. Our curriculum will be "Zoo Train!" from the Kindermusik Adventures series. The materials will include a compact disc, Zoo Train! book, poster and an animal shaped shaker.
     The children will have the opportunity to move to music, dance, play simple rhythm instruments, explore the capabilities of their voices, sing, chant (rhythmic speech), develop listening skills, dance, explore and play.
      In addition to the activities mentioned above, each session will include a gathering time, story time, rhythm instrument petting zoo, quiet time, craft time and a snack time.
June 3 to 12

Tuition: $75 (includes snack)

Kindermusik Adventures II Camp - 3 to 5 years old
Program Goals:
     To help develop rudimentary musical skills and a love of music, encourage creativity, and provide a child-centered class experience.
      Kindermusik Adventures II Camp will meet for five 90 minute sessions. A parent or caregiver needs to be present during the final 30 minutes of camp each day for a sharing time which will also include parent assisted art activities.
      Our curriculum will be "On the Road!" from the Kindermusik Adventures series. "On the Road!" was inspired by children's love of family adventures and the life-long memories they build. This camp incorporates an integrated learning approach, where music is woven throughout the curriculum with movement, art, drama, language, play and storytelling to produce a kaleidoscope of multi-sensory experiences for the child. Each session will include a snack and art time.
      Materials include an at-home compact disc, Go Van Go! book, a poster, and a small frog guiro
June 11 to 22

Kindermusik Adventures III Camp - 4 1/2 to 7 years old
Program Goals:
      To foster creativity through an integrated arts approach, to actively engage the child in a variety of hands-on arts activities, refine listening skills, and develop ensemble playing and singing.
      Kindermusik Adventures Camp will meet daily (Monday through Friday) for 2 hour sessions. This camp is designed for the children only. A short sharing time (10 minutes) may be added to the end of some of the classes including a party on the last day of camp.
      Our curriculum will be the brand new "Tell Me a Tale"from the Kindermusik Adventures series. Through storytelling, your child will develop an early awareness of rhythm, movement, singing, and drama. Each lesson features a new tale from around the world, explored through multi-instrument and multi-cultural elements. All told, it's an around-the-imagination adventure of the greatest stories from Europe, Malaysia, South Africa, and more. We will be combining music and movement with arts and crafts, dance, instrument playing, listening activities, games, dramatic play, and appropriate snacks.
      Materials include an at-home compact disc, a story book, a parents poster, lummi sticks and all materials for craft projects. A daily snack will be provided.
June 8 to 12

July 27 to 31
      meets daily 10:00 to 12:00 PM
Tuition: $110 (includes snack)
                plus $35 Materials Fee ($22 Sibling Materials Fee)

Family Music
Program Goals: To apply musical and developmental learning in a multi-age, multi-child family environment, encourage creativity, and encourage each child's own musical instincts.
     Kindermusik Family Camp will meet for five 60 minute sessions. A parent or caregiver must be present with the child(ren) during the class time. Our curriculum will be "Creatures at the Ocean" from the Kindermusik Adventures series. The materials will include a home compact disc, five picture folders, story cards and a pair of specially designed seashell castanets on a stick for each child. The children will have the opportunity to move to music, dance, play simple rhythm instruments, echo rhythmic and tonal patterns, explore the capabilities of their voices, sing, chant (rhythmic speech), and develop listening skills. In addition to the activities mentioned above, each session will include a story time, instrument exploration time, family "jam-time," and a craft time.
June 30 to July 28
     meets Tuesday 4:30 to 5:30 PM June 30, July 7, 14, 21 & 28
Tuition: 1 child family $60 plus $30 Materials fee
2 child family $90 plus $40 Materials fee
3 or more child family $110 plus $50 Materials fee
                

Location and Directions

     All Kindermusik Summer Classes are held at the Middletown United Methodist Church (MUMC). MUMC is located in Middletown, Maryland off of Alt. Route 40. As you come down Braddock Mountain look for Fern Lane. Make a left turn onto Fern lane and a right onto Fern Court which will take you into the MUMC parking lot.

     Coming from points North of Frederick and the downtown Frederick area use Route 40 (West Patrick Street). After passing the Fredericktowne Mall on your right look for signs for Alt. Route 40 and make the left turn.

     Coming from the east on I-70 use the Braddock/Middletown exit and go left on Alt. Route 40.
